Restoration and artistic decoration in hotel settings is yet another avenue for our talented team at Conrad Schmitt Studios.
Built in 1845, the French Lick Springs Hotel in French Lick, Indiana needed restorative attention. Studio artists set out to enhance its formal entrance lobby, grand lobby, colonnade dining hall, Pluto buffet restaurant and west corridor. This meant producing incredible ornamental plaster, scagliola, murals and decorative finishes throughout the hotel. Though the space appears bigger and more elegant, its historical appearance has been preserved. Travelers from around the world now flock to the renewed hotel.
Conrad Schmitt Studios restored the center lounge, ballroom, palm court, foyer and rotunda ceiling of the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. New murals created by CSS grace the Waldorf Astoria in New York and the West Baden Springs Hotel in West Baden, Indiana. Today, visitors enter these hotels in awe.
Anywhere in the world, the Studio's artisans and craftspeople can work with owners, architects, interior design firms and consultants to create beautiful projects that reflect quality and longevity.
“Thank you for your personal efforts ... to make this project one of the most talked about restorations in New York.” — Kenneth Hurd, Kenneth E. Hurd & Associates on completion of the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria
