Emanu-El B’ne Jeshurun

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

To create doors of beauty and significance for the Ark, the holy cabinet in which the Torah scrolls are kept. This special project celebrated the dedication of the congregation's new synagogue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Leptat® etched glass was chosen for the 2' x 8' door panels because its unique, crystalline appearance provides a fitting sense of radiance. The imagery of the biblical burning bush was further enhanced by the addition of a dimensional bronze sculpture. The gilded Hebrew names of the Ten Sefirot, or Divine Emanations, also appear on the ark doors. New stained glass windows provide an inspirational backdrop to the Ark for thiscenter of the Jewish community.
